After graduation from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. I taught school at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Al. for a few years. My move to Ft. Walton Beach occurred in 1966 and I began my real estate career with Real Estate International in 1976. At that time we were marketing homes in the $30,000-$40,000 price range in Ft. Walton and Niceville. Interest rates were 17%.
The market bottomed out in 1975 and at that time my broker began buying and marketing foreclosed condominium projects on Navarre Beach and also purchasing parcels of land to sub-divide into residential lots—all waterfront property .The market slowly began to stabilize along with interest rates at around 8%. Life was better.
The Emerald Coast was making headlines and quickly became the most sought after investment property in the South. Cornerstone Development Company was formed by the owner of Real Estate International and I was selling gulf front pre-construction condominiums from Destin to Panama City Beach. Every unit would be under contract on the day they were offered with a waiting list.
The grandest venture was when Cornerstone gained ownership of the much sought after 900 acre parcel of land owned by Mattie Kelly on Highway 98 in Destin and backing to Choctawhatchee Bay. Development plans got under way for this gated, golf course community known as Kelly Plantation. The last 15 acres were reserved for the condominium homes known as ONE WATER PLACE which are being marketed at this time at half the original cost.
The dramatic economic slump that is confronting the entire nation at this time has required a mental adjustment and a determination from everyone. I strive to provide my buyers and sellers with a hassle-free transaction by being knowledgeable and capable of assisting with financing, insurance, school districts, recreation, etc. Real estate transactions are costly and effect the security of families and must be taken seriously.
It has been necessary to be resilient and hardworking. I have certainly been battle-tested over a span of 34 years.

I discovered the Emerald Coast of Florida several years ago when my husband and I began vacationing in Sandestin. We bought a second home here and eventually made Destin our primary home.
In my former career, I was a nurse. I developed, owned and operated infusion centers proving outpatient intravenous therapy to patients. After successfully selling the clinics and retiring, my husband and I continued our careers in the commercial/medical office space development. We then branched out into residential development here on the Panhandle.

I moved to Destin over 4 years ago. I had vacationed in Destin and owned property and finally decided the time was right to move to Paradise.
My education includes a Bachelor of Science degree and a masters degree from Arizona State University. For many years I worked in the hospitality industry and as a contract interior designer. I served as Vice President of a private country club in Atlanta and much of my work dealt with real estate and land development, and was a licensed real estate agent in Georgia.
